Portsmouth 1 - 2 Charlton Athletic

CHARLTON maintained their impressive start to the Premiership season by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Portsmouth on Saturday.

Dario Silva gave the home side the lead after 14 minutes when he latched onto Andy O'Brien's long ball and drilled home past Stephan Andersen, who kept his place despite Dean Kiely's return to fitness.

The lead lasted until the 60th minute when Danny Murphy fed Darren Ambrose who netted his first goal for the Addicks.

The visitors were dominant in the second half and got the winner their pressure deserved with 13 minutes to go.

Dennis Rommedahl's pace had been causing Portsmouth problems and he raced onto Murphy's fine through pass and finished well to secure the points for Alan Curbishley's side.

Charlton: Andersen, Young, Hreidarsson, Perry, Spector, Kishishev, Smertin, Murphy (El Karkouri 90), Rommedahl (Johansson 83), Ambrose, Bent.
Subs Not Used: Kiely, Hughes, Bothroyd.
