SCHOOLTEACHER Jan Taylor, from Burham, near Maidstone, has won the All England women's bar billiards title for an amazing sixth time in the last nine years. Taylor, 37, beat England captain Pauline Withey in the final in Reading and, for good measure, also took the prize for the highest break - a superb 11,500.
Taylor, who teaches at Balfour School, Rochester, lives in Rochester Road, Burham, and plays in the Maidstone & District League Division 1 for the public house just up the road, The Windmill. The pub is owned by her parents, Derek and Liz Powell.
Taylor has represented England several times and helped The Windmill to the Maidstone & District League title last season. They are currently on course to retain it.
