ALL six members of the Europa Weightlifting Club involved in the British Under-18 and Under-23 Championships at Kilmarnock won medals.

Zoe Smith, 13, won the under-18 53kg category by lifting 66kg in the snatch and 80kg in the clean and jerk – breaking her own British records in both.

Jack Oliver, 16, won the under-18 69kg competition with lifts of 105kg and 125kg in the snatch and the clean and jerk respectively.

Smith and Oliver had a double reason to celebrate after scooping the best male and best female lifts in the under-18 tournament.

Peter Barnett, 16, lifted a British record of 141kg in the clean and jerk and 110kg in the snatch to win the under-18 94kg category, and Jason Pippin, 17, set a British record of 108kg in the snatch and 132kg in the clean and jerk to win the under-18 105kg competition.

In the under-23 tournament, Richard Williams, 20, won the 94kg category with lifts of 118kg in the snatch and 137kg in the clean and jerk, and Joe Muskett, 22, won the over-105kg category with lifts of 131kg in the snatch and 152kg in the clean and jerk.
