Joe Denly misses out at Grace Road due to international commitments

SOUTH AFRICAN born Neil Dexter gets a rare chance to shine at Grace Road where Kent start their NatWest Pro40 League campaign with Saturday's televised Division 2 game against Leicestershire.

Dexter comes into the Spitfires starting 11 as replacement for Joe Denly, who is on England Lions duty against India in Chelmsford.

Denly's usual opening berth will go to Andrew Hall, leaving Dexter to slot into the middle order for what will be the 40th league meeting between these two counties.

The action will be televised by Sky Sports from 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, 10 counties, including five from the LV County Championship first division, have supported Yorkshire's appeal against the ECB's decision to re-schedule Kent's flood-ravaged game with Worcestershire.

Lancashire, Hampshire, Durham and Sussex have all lent their weight to Yorkshire's bid to have the board's ruling to replay the abandoned game between July 30 and August 3 overturned.

Kent squad for Grace Road: Rob Key, Andrew Hall, Martin van Jaarsveld, Darren Stevens, Matthew Walker, Geraint Jones, Yasir Arafat, Neil Dexter, Ryan McLaren, James Tredwell, Simon Cook.
