JOHNNY ARMOUR: "I'm still fighting the same opponent and still getting the same money"

JOHNNY ARMOUR is remaining positive despite having his December match-up against Dale Robinson changed.

Armour, 35, will now face the Huddersfield fighter for the English bantomweight title, not the Commonwealth title, on the undercard of the Jason Booth versus Damaen Kelly IBO super-flyweight title fight on December 17.

The winner could face either new Commonwealth champion Ghanaian Joseph ‘King Kong’ Agbeko or the winner of the British title fight between Martin Powers and Noel Wilders.

But Armour is just happy to be returning to the ring and is aiming to put himself back on the map by beating Robinson and earning himself a crack at another title.

He said: “I’m a little disappointed but I’m still fighting the same opponent and still getting the same money, so it’s juts the same.

“I’m just glad to be getting back in there. I want to beat this kid and put myself back on the map. A win would put me top of the British rankings and put me back in the mix for the titles.”

“Fighting Dale Robinson is a hard fight and beating him will prove I’m still one of the best bantomweights in the country.”
