GILLINGHAM manager Mark Stimson has labelled the relegation showdown with Bournemouth on Saturday as “massive.”

Stimson knows another home defeat would be unacceptable, following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Crewe, and he’s determined to end the run of poor form.

He said: “Last weekend I said it was a big game but this is three times bigger – it’s massive.

“We’ve got to start winning football matches and we’ve got the opportunity to play a team below us. Hopefully we can then go into Monday’s game (at Port Vale) full of confidence with a win behind us.

“Now it’s about the players taking responsiblity and doing if for themselves and their own personal pride.”

Stimson will bring defender Garry Richards back into the team, after he completed a three-game ban, with inexperienced loanee Adam Bygrave expected to make way.

Also facing the chop will be striker Delroy Facey and that could mean a recall for £150,000 forward Simeon Jackson, who has yet to get off the mark after featuring in nine matches since joining from Rushden.

Defender Danny Cullip (hamstring) is rated doubtful.
