Simeon Jackson has been injured

Gillingham strikers Mark McCammon and Simeon Jackson are both rated 50/50 to face Rotherham in League 2 on Saturday.

But boss Mark Stimson is not willing to take any risks on the pair who have been sufering from hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.

Stimson said: "We want them back as soon as possible but we've got to make sure that when they are back, they stay around us.

"The boys who have played in the last two games couldn't have done any more. They have worked their socks off and got two good results for the club."

Gillingham will move into the play-offs if they beat Rotherham and other results go their way.

But Stimson is refusing to get carried away and believes he will get a better idea of who will be fighting for promotion after Christmas.

He said: "We've just got to try and maintain what we've got going at the moment. It's still early days but we've got to make sure we stay in and around everyone. It's a tight league and I think it will be tight right up until the last month of the season.

"I think when you get past that first game in the New Year and you've got Christmas out the way, you get a feel of eight to 10 teams who could be in it at the end."
