PARDEW: "Those going to Stonebridge Road will have the opportunity to see the strength and depth of our up and coming players"

CHARLTON manager Alan Pardew will split his squad in two for friendlies tonight at Ebbsfleet and Aldershot.

He will send a largely a youthful side to Stonebridge Road to face the Fleet while more experienced players will be at Aldershot for Paul Shrubb's testimonial.

Pardew said: "Those going to Stonebridge Road will have the opportunity to see the strength and depth of our up and coming players."

Shrubb, 51, a former Charlton scout, has been diagnosed with the muscle-wasting Motor Neurone disease and Pardew said: "Ideally, I would like to have fielded two strong sides but because it's a testimonial for Paul I feel obliged to send the stronger team to Aldershot."

Admission at Stonbridge Road tonight has been priced at £10 adults and £5 for over-65s and Under-16s.
