NEIL SMITH: his side is only six points off a play-offs position

Welling v Havant & Waterlooville

WELLING manager Neil Smith has vowed to bounce back from their FA Cup exit at home to Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.

The Wings host the Hawks in Blue Square South after crashing out of the FA Cup to Eastbourne Borough last Saturday.

But Smith has already turned his attentions to the league programme. He said: "We’re only six points off the play-offs and I want to claw back at that gap now. It’s an achievable target so we’re looking to get something out of the game."

Smith added: "With Braintree coming up on Tuesday it's important that we try to get maximum points from these two home games."

Striker Fabian Quintyn (hamstring) is doubtful and Orlando Smith is still sidelined with an ankle problem. On-loan keeper Clark Masters, who played for Brentford's reserve side during the week, is set to return in goal.

* Welling boss Neil Smith is holding a meet the management evening at Park View Road on Friday from 7.30pm. Tickets, including a hot supper, cost £6.
