WELLING eased their relegation worries by recording their latest home win of the season over fellow strugglers Carshalton.

An even contest came alive on 17 minutes when Carshalton's Des Boateng was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Ian Wiles.

Welling wasted no time in establishing their authority on the game and Paul Booth slid in on 28 minutes to break his home goal drought. It was his first strike at Park View Road since September.

Four minutes before half-time Welling added a second when Wiles'cross fell for Jamie Day to drill home.

On loan Martin Carthy scored from close range on 62 minutes and Welling wrapped the points up two minutes later when Carthy's deflected effort found the back of the net despite the best efforts of Carshalton keeper Stuart Searle.
