YOUNG Kent angler Lloyd Page is celebrating once again after winning his second gold medal in two years for England at the Junior Shore International Championship at Fort William in Scotland.

The 16-year-old from Minster, Sheppey, who interrupted his GSCE revision, to represent his country in the under-17's competition, won his zone on the first day by catching several rays, dogfish and gurnard.

On day two, Page had settle for second place in his zone but it was enough to guide the England side to first place, ahead of runners-up Wales and third-placed Scotland.

England youth team manager Steve Hallmark said: "He did extremely well. He worked really hard to have one section win and a runner-up spot.

"Lloyd is part of a strong side. It didn't surprise me that they won gold, because when you look at this junior team I knew we'd win it."

He said: "He's got a bit of talent. To repeat his victory from last year proves he's got the ability and he's still getting better.
