KEVIN BREMNER, Gillingham’s former youth team manager, is taking the club to an industrial tribunal claiming unfair dismissal. The hearing is set for Thursday, December 11, at Ashford.

Bremner, 46, parted company with the club in June after eight years at Priestfield. The former Colchester, Birmingham, Wrexham, Plymouth and Millwall striker was chairman Paul Scally’s first signing when he bought the club in 1995.

Bremner, now working part-time for Millwall coaching their Academy Under-12s, confirmed: “The case will be heard at Ashford on December 11. Apart from that, I have no other comment to make.”

Meanwhile, speculation persists that Darren Hare, Gillingham's Head of Youth Development, is preparing to leave.

Hare, brother-in-law of player-manager Andy Hessenthaler, sent a letter to all parents a week ago admitting to feeling “lacklustre”.

He also said that he was uncertain over whether Mr Scally wished to continue the youth programme in its current format.

After watching Hare take the club's Under-16s at the Centre of Excellence last Thursday, one parent, who did not wish to be named, said: “Darren looked really down. The rumour is that he will leave after Christmas.”
