Police arrested two men from Maidstone, aged 31 and 34, following a fight which broke out in Earl Street, Maidstone

One man is due to appear in court while a second is still in custody following a street brawl in Maidstone town centre.

Police arrested the two men after a disturbance in Earl Street at 1.50pm yesterday. One arrest was made there, while a second in connection with the incident, took place in Jubilee Square a short time afterwards.

Alan Russell, 31, from Hart Street, was charged with assault causing ABH and was due to appear at Medway Magistrates Court today.

The second man, a 34-year-old, also from Maidstone, is still in custody.
