Delighted parents celebrated as their little bundles of joy arrived on the same day as the royal baby.

While Kate Middleton was going through labour yesterday, so were dozens of other women at Maidstone Hospital's birthing centre and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

They included Vicky Hobson, from Leybourne, who had her baby Zach at 11.40am yesterday in the birthing centre in Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, a few hours before the new prince was born.

Zach weighed in at a lb heavier than Kate and Wills' new arrival, at 9lbs 6ozs, and has two excited siblings waiting at home for him with dad Ross - Eva, five, and three-year-old Cameron.

Mrs Hobson said: "It is lovely to share the same day; it is an honour really and pretty amazing," adding: "Although to be fair, their baby was really born on Zach's birthday."
