A woman who collapsed outside a doctor's surgery yesterday died despite passers-by, medical staff and emergency services coming to her aid.

The 77-year-old woman fell in Holland Road, Maidstone, close to the St Luke's Medical Centre, at around 11.15am.

Passers-by helped her into the nearby surgery, and an ambulance and a paramedic in a car attended the scene, along with police.

However, the woman stopped breathing and despite resuscitation attempts, she died at the scene.
