Motorists are being advised to avoid part of the M20 after an accident.
Initially police thought a lorry had jack-knifed on the coast-bound carriageway between junctions 8 (Leeds Castle) and 9 (Ashford).
But on arrival they discovered it was a vehicle with a trailer.
The vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder shortly after 12.15pm and officers were checking the barrier for damage.
No injuries were reported but delays were expected.
