The air ambulance and three land vehicles were called to a crash in Horsmonden.

It happened in Lamberhurst Road, outside the Sprivers National Trust property, at about 10am some 300 metres from the village's central crossroads where there has been a long history of accidents.

Horsmonden resident David Caldfield said: "It was in exactly the same spot as another accident in April when the air ambulance was also called.

"That suggests to me there is something dangerous about the road at this point."

Lamberhurst Road was reduced to a single carriageway for around 90 minutes while emergency vehicles were at the scene and while the two cars involved were recovered by tow-truck.

Police said one woman received treatment but her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The air ambulance landed in a neighbour's garden.

Mr Caldfield said: "We in the village are becoming increasingly frustrated at the number of accidents and the reluctance of KCC, the highways authority, to take any effective action.

"Their attitude seems to be: if no-one is killed, there's not a problem."

KCC had previously installed red lines in the tarmac to discourage speeding.
