Air ambulance called to crash on A228 Leybourne Bypass, near Maidstone

The air ambulance rushed to the A228 Leybourne Bypass this afternoon when a coach, a lorry and a van collided.

Just one person was injured in the pile-up, a 24-year-old woman, who was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury, suffering with head and leg injuries police do not believe are life-threatening.

The accident happened at 1.20pm and there were no passengers in the coach.

The air ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident but was not needed.

A police spokesman said the road was not closed but drivers reported delays in the area.
