For one weekend the focus of the nation was on Maidstone.

Thousands of people came to the County Town to watch some of the world's top stars perform at Radio 1's Big Weekend, including the first festival performance in the UK by Madonna.

Thousands more listened in on Radio 1 or watched coverage beamed from our doorstep to televisions across the world.
