Traffic ground to a halt on the M20 this afternoon after a swan wandered onto the road.

The creatures blocked the London-bound carriageway between junctions 6 for Maidstone and 5 for Aylesford.

Traffic was held while the swan was removed, after they appeared just before 1.30pm.

It was removed just before 2pm and the carriageway was reopened soon after.
