Police have arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of stealing vehicle parts.

Officers were called just after 3.15am yesterday regarding suspicious activity in a hotel car park at London Road, Swanley.

It was alleged the parts had been removed from a van and placed in a vehicle which had left the scene.

Patrols spotted a van at a petrol station on Blue Bell Hill, Maidstone.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Eltham, London on suspicion of theft.

Some vehicle parts were also seized.

The man was later released pending further investigation.
