Baby freed from car at Tunbridge Wells Hospital

The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury

Firefighters were called to free a baby locked in a car at Tunbridge Wells Hospital earlier today.

A crew from Tunbridge Wells Fire Station was called to the incident at the state-of-the-art hospital in Tonbridge Road at 4.23pm.

The car was parked in the multi-storey car park.

Quite how it came to find itself in the predicament has not been made clear, but Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed firefighters broke into the vehicle at 4.30pm with the owner's permission.

The gender and age of the baby are not known, but the tot emerged from the ordeal unscathed.

Firefighters left the scene at 4.53pm.
