A seven foot Christmas tree has been stolen from the centre of a green in Maidstone.

The brazen culprits swiped the festive centrepiece from St Catherine's Road last night.

It comes as 50 trees were stolen from Homebase in Herne Bay.

Shocked staff found a fence had been damaged at the back of the store on Eddington Business Park following the incident.
