Further warnings have been issued to travellers who use Blue Bell Hill from Maidstone to Medway ahead of a 55-hour closure of the uphill stretch over the weekend.

Kent Highway Services is carrying out a £1million resurfacing scheme on the uphill stretch of the A229 carriageway and the route will be closed from 9pm tonight until 5am on Monday.

We want to know if you prefer this way of carrying out road improvements - a complete closure over a couple of days rather than more minor disruption over a longer period. Vote in our poll below and have your say in our SpeakOut.

The weekend closure will result in a lengthy diversion for Arriva's Expressline 101 buses, with an extra 20 minutes being allowed for the diversion. There is no change to the route or times of Maidstone-bound buses, but an evening and Sunday service in both directions will change.
