KENT Police have launched an investigation after a man's body was found on the London-bound carriageway of the M20.

The man is believed to have fallen from a bridge at junction 7 of the motorway at Maidstone.

The London-bound carriageway was closed for about two hours on Sunday after the body was discovered. The man has not yet been identified.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious. The closure of the motorway caused traffic tailbacks in and around Maidstone.
