A broken down train has caused issues with other services into London this evening.

It is the second major issue on the Maidstone East line affecting commuters today. The first came when a man tried to take a bike over the tracks and suffered burns when it caught fire.

SouthEastern tweeted to say a train has stopped working at Otford and services behind it have come to a halt. By 6pm the carriages had been moved with other services predicted to get moving soon.

Responding to tweets from disgruntled passengers, the company has advised the line from Sevenoaks into the capital is running normally.

Engineers were sent to try and fix the train and buses were arranged between Ashford and Swanley, but the operator has since tweeted to say trains will be on the move shortly.
