A narrow country lane was temporarily blocked this afternoon after a bus and a lorry came together near Maidstone.

Dramatic pictures show how onlookers had to help separate the vehicles when they tried to pass each other on Lower Street in Leeds.

Staff at the nearby George Inn pub said traffic in the village had been particularly bad as a result.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.56pm on Saturday regarding a collision involving a bus and a lorry on the B2163 at Leeds near Maidstone.

"Officers attended and no injuries were reported.

"There was some congestion until both vehicles were moved at around 2.30pm."
