Bus drivers waiting for passengers in a town centre high street are being left baffled by a mystery alarm.

Footage captured in Maidstone shows one driver who had trouble finding a way to stop the alarm which begins sounding while the bus is stationary.

Dozens of Arriva buses pass through the High Street and the alarm in question has been heard sounding multiple times each day and sometimes lasting for more than 20 seconds.

It is not yet known why the alarm begins and why drivers have such a hard time shutting it off and Arriva have been contacted for a comment.

It is believed the nuisance alarm only affects the newer 17-plate fleet of Arriva's buses.
