The A229 at Blue Bell Hill has reopened after it was blocked following a crash.

The collision, which involved just one vehicle, was reported to have happened at 3.30pm in the Maidstone-bound carriageway.

Lane one of two was closed and the police were called.

Highways officials confirmed the road reopened at 3.54pm, however, they say it will take some time for the backlog of traffic to clear.

No injuries have been reported and recovery for the vehicle has been arranged.
