A Staplehurst couple had a lucky escape when a car crashed into their living room as they watched TV.
Brian and Cheryl Carr from Hurst Close were uninjured in the accident which happened at about 7.30pm on Saturday night.
The car, which was driven by a man who lives opposite the pair, crashed through a neighbour's hedge before smashing into the side of the detached house.
Mr Carr, 56, a van driver, said: "I haven't had time to reflect on how lucky we were because I've been running on adrenalin since Saturday night."
The driver of the car, a black Seat Ibiza, was also uninjured.
Police confirmed a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
