Police have seized a vehicle after it was discovered the driver had no licence or insurance.

Officers were spotted searching the black Renault Scenic in Sutton Road, Maidstone, at around 9am this morning.

The car was stopped by five officers on patrol in the town near KFC and Papa Johns.

They inspected the car while the driver stand at the roadside.

At least two of the force's vehicles were at the scene while it was being seized.

A police spokesman said: "The driver received a traffic offence report for driving without a licence and insurance, and the vehicle was seized."
