One lane of a busy A-road is closed due to emergency repair works to the carriageway.

Traffic is queuing on the southbound carriageway of the A249 at Detling Hill between the County Showground and Pilgrims Way.

The congestion is currently backed up to junction 5 (Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout) of the M2.

Drivers should expect delays

Last week drivers faced days of delays after a collapsed manhole cover forced the closure of a lane on the A249 at Detling Hill.

Urgent repairs were carried out on the southbound carriageway between the Shell garage and Jade's Crossing.
