Drivers face days of delays after a collapsed manhole cover forced the closure of a lane on the A249 at Detling Hill.

Urgent repairs are currently underway on the southbound carriageway between the Shell garage and Jade's Crossing.

Long queues are expected through the morning and afternoon rush hours between Stockbury Roundabout and J7 for the M20, posing a big problem for drivers.

Drivers should expect delays

Workers from Kent County Council Highways department are not expected to fix the problem until Friday evening at the earliest.
