A man has suffered serious head injuries after a car crashed in Goudhurst last night.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, had to be cut free from the Vauxhall Corsa by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment at 7.45pm.

He was then taken to King's College Hospital, in London, by a car operated by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Only one car was involved in the crash, which left Winchet Hill closed until 11pm.
