Staff at Hair by the Green

Two village salons were targeted by thieves in overnight raids.

Offenders broke their way into Hair by the Green, Boughton Monchelsea, sometime between 7pm on Tuesday and when staff arrived at about 8.30am the next day.

They made off with electrical equipment, including blow-driers, straighteners and curling tongs, and small change from the till.

Owner Sue Jones noticed beauty products had been moved and a tree outside the small business had been damaged. It is thought those responsible forced their way in to the property by kicking the door open.

In the same night, a hairdressers in Marden High Street was also hit by thieves. Locals in the village were unaware of the reported drama.

A police spokesman said the two incidents are not being linked at this time but officers will investigate.

If anyone has information about the two alleged burglaries, they are asked to call Kent Police on 101.
