‘Crack den’ inside Golding Homes’ property in Maidstone is closed

A ‘crack den’ has been closed down and a nightmare neighbour removed.

As KentOnline reported earlier this month, seriously-ill gardener Chris Wilkinson was at the end of this tether with the rogue resident.

He said the last three years of his life had been blighted by constant noise at all hours –leaving him struggling to sleep.

He claimed the neighbouring property in Maidstone was visited by drug users and prostitutes and landlord Golding Homes wasn’t helping.

Chris suffers from Fahr's syndrome, which affects his motor functions, such as walking, holding and climbing, and with the constant stress, he was feeling his health decline.

But following the article, the 30-year-old came home days later to find something he hadn’t had for a while – silence.

He said: “I came back from work two weeks ago and saw the closure notices and the place boarded up.

“The block has some real peace now and I know I’m not the only one thankful for it.

“I’ve been to Golding Homes three times this year so far and nothing had been done.”

“The latest time I went they said they couldn’t do anything.”

Though Chris doesn’t fully know what has happened to the neighbour, it is believed he was moved to a mental health facility.

For now, though the self-employed man is taking some time off, getting his health back to a point he can start full-time employment again.

He is currently in Shetland visiting his daughter with his father.

The matter had been reported to Kent Police

He added: “I’ve been catching up with years of sleep and I’m feeling a lot better. I’m looking forward to a quieter, less stressful existence.

“Time will tell but for now I am in a much happier place.”

Golding Homes was contacted but said it could not add anything new to its previous statement specifically about this case.

When previously contacted, Rachel McFarlane, executive director of customer experience at Golding Homes, said: “We’re in touch with residents, visiting homes, and keeping them informed about the action we’re taking to address their concerns about anti-social behaviour and to help.”

Police were contacted about the closure notice but could not add anything about the issue as they are waiting for a court order.
