POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a dog was stolen from his home.

The cream-coloured Saluki Lurcher called Bugs was taken from the back garden of his owners' home in Courtenay Road, Maidstone, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on December 10, though police have only just released details of the theft.

Police would like to speak to a man and a small boy who were seen in the area just before the incident as they may be able to help with ongoing enquiries.

The man is described as being tall, of slim build with spiked blond hair and was seen getting into a blue car with both the young boy and the dog.

Police say they have been told the dog is estimated to be worth about £500.

Anyone with any further information about the incident is asked to contact police in Mid Kent on 01622 690690 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
