Double fatal trial date is fixed

Alan Oliver was granted continued unconditional bail at Maidstone Crown Court

A 25-year-old man will stand trial on November 27 on charges of causing the deaths by dangerous driving of a father and son.

Alan Oliver was driving a Rover car that was involved in an accident on the A228 near Rochester on December 10 last year.

Steven Pethig, 27, and his seven-year-old son Billy, of the Isle of Grain, died after their car broke down in Malmaynes Hall Road, Stoke, near strodd and they waited for help.

Judge Andrew Patience, QC, continued unconditional bail at Maidstone Crown Court for Oliver, of Fairfield Avenue, Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
