Maidstone: Drink driver Adam Chawner banned after crashing car into wall

A Maidstone man has been banned from driving after crashing his car into a wall while over the limit.

Adam Chawner had been returning home from a funeral when the collision happened, on January 20 in Holland Road.

The 26-year-old tarmacer, from Buckland Hill gave a breath test of 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Russell Morling, defending, said Chawner had had a couple of drinks at the wake and made a miscalculation as to when it would be safe to drive.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

He was disqualified for three years and four months, fined £400 and ordered to pay £125 in other court costs.
