A littering driver has been caught on camera throwing a coffee cup and water bottle from his car.

The unnamed driver was spotted swerving between lanes in Allington on Sunday, January 20, at around 3.40pm.

As he pulls up at the traffic lights in Castle Road he leans across to the passenger seat and grabs hold of an empty coffee cup.

A shocked driver in front captures the "disgusting" scenes on a rear view camera as he launches a coffee cup out of his window.

Just when you think his blatant disregard for the environment has come to an end, another bottle follows the same trajectory.

The person who caught the footage, and wishes to remain anonymous, said he didn't know whether or not to report the driver to the police or Maidstone Borough Council.

They said: "I was stuck at the traffic lights and I looked in my rear view mirror and saw him go from one side to another.

"I kept an eye on him and when I saw him reach across and throw something I thought 'what a prat'.

"This was out of order.

"If the law took it more seriously then it might stop people from littering. It is disgusting."
