A driver raced the wrong way down Blue Bell Hill in an apparent bid to escape police.

The vehicle shot off at junction 3 of the M2, for Chatham and Rochester, across a roundabout in the wrong direction and then down the incorrect side of the main road - also known as the A229 - after spotting a marked firearms car.

His damaged vehicle was located but the driver had fled.

However, police officer PC Farmer tracked and located a male suspect with the help of police dog Orson.

Police, who shared details of the incident on twitter, have been asked for more details.
