Man rescued by Kent Fire and Rescue Service after car started flooding in Boarley Lane, Maidstone

Firefighters had to save a driver whose car started flooding when he became stuck in a water-filled ditch.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist a man that was stranded in car a flooded road-side ditch in Boarley Lane, Sandling, near Maidstone.

A fire control officer stayed on the line, giving the motorist advice about leaving vehicle as it became flooded with water.

Crews then led the man to safety. Kent Police also attended the incident and closed the road.
