Maidstone: Air ambulance called as man rushed to hospital with head injury after Sutton Road crash

A driver was rushed to hospital with a head injury after a crash in Maidstone.

Police, air ambulance and South East Coast Ambulance Service medics all attended the scene in Sutton Road, where two cars collided just before 10.30pm yesterday.

An air ambulance spokesman said: "The helicopter doctor and paramedic assisted paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service in treating the patient, an adult male car driver.

The Air ambulance and ambulance were both called to the scene in Maidstone.

"He sustained a head injury and was taken by land ambulance to the regional major trauma centre at King's College Hospital in London."

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene and a road closure was put in place. One man was taken to a London hospital for treatment."

The road was reopened again just after 2.30am.

The man has since been released from hospital.
