Police believe that a driver in a white Transit van stopped to intervene and acted as a peace maker in the dispute, and officers are appealing for this man to come forward so officers can speak to him and take a statement.

PC John Hetterley from Kent Police said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing but we believe that, as it is a busy stretch of road, there could be lots of potential witnesses and I would like to speak to anyone who has any information that they think is relevant.

“In particular we would like to hear from the van driver who stopped at the scene as he could have key information.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Hetterley at Maidstone police station by calling 01622 604130, quoting crime reference YY/9042/14.
