A 26-year-old drug dealer has been sentenced to three years in prison after he was found with 13 wraps of heroin.

Daniel Parks, of no fixed address, was in possession of the class A drug when he was arrested during a raid at Sunningdale Court, Maidstone, in March last year.

The offender was stopped by officers as he came out of a lift in the block of flats, off Square Hill Road, with Samuel Jeffery, 29.

Police could smell cannabis and searched the pair.

Parks was carrying heroin, two mobile phones and a knuckle duster. Jeffery, of Upper Stone Street, had more than 100g cannabis stashed in a shoe found in his bag.

Detectives discovered further evidence of drug dealing at a property in Cambridge Crescent, Shepway, where Parks had been staying. They also seized £500 in cash and a stab vest.

Parks pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A substance and possession of an offensive weapon.

Jeffery admitted possession with intent to supply a class B substance. He was sentenced to nine months in prison.

Both men were sentenced last Wednesday.

DC Claire Davey from Kent Police said: "Drugs ruin lives and I’m pleased that in this investigation we were able to seize a notable quantity and ensure that they weren’t sold on the streets of Kent.

"If anyone has any information regarding the use or sale of drugs in Kent I would encourage them to report it so the police can investigate it and prevent the sale of dangerous substances."
