It was the end of The Voice for Kent singer Ivy Paige after she lost out in the battle rounds.

The sassy singer from Maidstone had judge Olly Murs babbling like a flustered schoolboy when she first auditioned for the ITV show, but he said goodbye to the hopeful last night.

Ivy, who grew up in Rainham, found herself in a sing-off against Shane McCormack, in a joint performance of the song Sway.

At the end of the song, Olly told Ivy "your performance is amazing" but still chose to keep Shane.

Ivy told him: "Thank you for being such a great coach, thank you for all your wonderful feedback, I will take everything on board."

Fans, however, have shared their disappointment on social media with some suggestions both performers should have been put through.

The knock-out round gives other judges the chance to "steal" performers, but Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and will.i.am had used all their chances.

Olly later tweeted: "So sad to say goodbye to @TheIvyPaige I’ve loved every minute working with you babe! I’ll never forget you and that blind audition. Thanks for being so professional & awesome! Your one of a kind! Keep in touch."
