The site for 600 homes?

Barming residents will soon find out what’s in store for them when Croudace Strategic holds an exhibition of its plans for land to the east of Hermitage Lane, next to Maidstone Hospital.

Maidstone council last month agreed to release the land for residential development, subject to a number of conditions, which included the construction of a shopping parade and either a new school or a financial contribution towards one.

The council considered the land could accommodate up to 600 homes.

The exhibition will be at Oakwood House in Oakwood Park in Maidstone on Monday, April 29.
