A father of three killed in a motorbike crash has been described as a passionate family man with the most caring and generous spirit.

Darren Saunders, 36, died on Saturday, March 27, on the Tonbridge Road after his vehicle was in collision with a bus stop.

Speaking this week, his wife, Kim, said of him: "His smile is what I remember most - it’s the first and last thing I see when I close my eyes. He was the best father and had the most caring and generous spirit.”

Mr Saunders leaves behind three children, Jack, 14, Ellie, 10, and Rowson, 21 months, his mum Sally, father Derek, sister Andrea and Kim.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better father for the kids – he was always playing with them, whether it was tractor rides for Ellie or riding dirtbikes with Jack, he would do anything for them, he had so much patience," she said.

"Nothing was ever too much trouble for Darren. He was always helping everyone. He’d never let you down and was always there to cheer you up with a constant smile.”

She added: "However much time I would have had with Darren, it would never have been enough.”

Police are still investigating the incident, which happened at around 1.25pm outside the Cherry Tree pub. Officers were at the site of the crash on Saturday (April 3) but no new witnesses were identified.

Mr Saunders' funeral will be held on Friday, April 9, and will be a closed family service.
