Crews are at the scene of a reported fire on a busy road.

The blaze is said to have broken out on Romney Place, the main route into and out of Chequers Bus Station in Maidstone.

Centre management at the station called the fire service, and two engines were sent out.

When crews arrived at the scene it was quickly determined that the incident was a false alarm with good intent.
