Firefighters extinguish cottage fires in Hermitage Lane, near Aylesford

Firefighters were twice called to Hermitage Lane this morning to tackle blazes at derelict homes.

The first incident saw crews called to the Aylesford end of the road at 1.42am.

The flames were out by 3.22am but crews remained for an extra 30 minutes to dampen the area down.

They were called to another fire at 6.48am and spent 40 minutes at the location.

This took place in the roof of a derelict bungalow.

The cause of the fires is not yet known.

It comes nearly two weeks after firefighters extinguished a blaze that ripped through a derelict bungalow.

The cause of that is believed to be suspicious.
